You may have thought it was pretty advanced that I have had my own blog all this time, but take a look at this... here is a picture of me on the computer getting ready to video conference with my Aunt Whitney. Pretty cool huh?

1/2 birthday!

By the way, yesterday I turned 6 months old!! Unfortunately that means that today I have to go to the dr. and get some shots. Not fair!!

Fly away home

Well, yesterday we flew home to Boston. The flight went fine... I'm practically a pro at this now!





Mom bought me a cool package of Kleenex to play with. I particularly like the noisy packaging. Hey dad, this is mine to chew on! Back off!!

Christmas Day was tons of fun. I got many exciting gifts to play with and visited lots of family. I got worn out and had to take an extra nap.

I'm having so much fun with all of the neat toys to play with and Grandma Mary's house!! This particular piece is an antique... it was my mommy's and is labeled "Nikki's Horse." I think we can agree that it is mine now!!

Here we are in Michigan. Sunday dad dropped us off at the airport and we flew first class from Boston to Detroit. Mom decided that if she had to take me on a plane all by herself then she needed to upgrade with all of those frequent flier miles she has. I have to say that we both appreciated the extra elbow room and that additional bag of pretzels. Mom had brought along all sort of toys for me to play with, but of course who can beat a crinkly package of pretzels or an empty plastic cup? And mommy was very happy that I didn't have a massive poopy diaper on the plane as there was no changing table in that tiny bathroom.

We've been having fun and have already had a number of friends visit. There is lots of snow and it is COLD!! But as you can see I'm having tons of fun playing in this basket of my mom's old toys.

Robby's new ride

Cool huh?! Mom and dad got me a new lightweight stroller. Mom and I usually go to the movies every week. Normally she carries me to the T stop in the Baby Bjorn, but now that the weather is getting bad she's worried that we'd slip and fall on the ice. So, now mom can take me on the T in a stroller!!

p.s. I had green beans for dinner tonight... they weren't so bad this time...

Eat your vegetables

Um, I don't think I like green beans as much as I like applesauce. But mom says that if I don't eat my veggies then Santa might not bring me any good gifts. Can you believe that she's bribing me with that already?!

5 months

I turned 5 months old this past Sunday. Wow, how time flies!

We've had lots of visitors lately and they've all gone home now. Time to catch my breath just a little before we fly out to Michigan for Christmas in a few weeks. From the sounds of it, this is a busy time of year as mom and dad run around buying presents, going to parties, etc. My only concern is that Santa knows how to find me...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today I feasted on a delicious blend of rice cereal and applesauce. Yum! Well, I guess as first solid food goes that isn't too bad. I can't really expect turkey, stuffing and all of the fixings right off the bat. Mom says a real Thanksgiving meal will have to wait until next year....

More visitors

A couple of days ago my Grandpa Chip was in town to visit, and now my Grandma Mary and Auntie Whitney are here. Wow, it gets busy around the holidays! Today mom and I took Grandma to the movies to see Harry Potter. I think Grandma thought it was a little scary... I wasn't afraid but she did try to cover my eyes once or twice.

My grandpa Chip was in town for a short visit this weekend. We had so much fun hanging out! Can't wait to go visit him in Michigan in just a few weeks!!

A baby's baptism

Today I was baptized at the church my dad went to when he was a little boy. For the baptism I wore a special Emens family christening gown (shown above). My great-grandfather, Francis Robert, was the first to wear this and now I was the twelfth baby to have this honor. Another interesting fact is that I also share the same birthday as my great-grandfather Frank... 95 years apart.
Here I am with my parents and my godfather, Dan McAlpine, and my godmother, my aunt Nancy.
And here we are with Father McCabe. He is a friend of my dad and Pop's and they have been friends years. Father McCabe has known my dad since he was a baby - wow, that's a LONG time!
