Back at the Ranch

Yesterday mom and I went for a "hiking playgroup" at the Rancho San Antonio Open Preserve that is very close to our house. We had a lot of fun, but you must go prepared. Let me give you some cues on what you need to do to be safe and have fun.
First you must stay on the trail. There are all sorts of wild animals out here like rattlesnakes and mountain lions. And besides, this tall grass tickles my ears. You might want to stop and smell the flowers. And maybe pick one for your mom. In the event that you do get off the trail, look at your map for some guidance. Ah, here we are!
You must stay hydrated! Make sure to bring some thing cool to drink. Hiking is hard work.Snacks also help keep your energy up. Mom, do mountain lions like Kix?
Ah, at at the end of a long hike find someplace comfortable to rest. I think this tree stump looks like a good place to take a nap.

Go SOX!!

Yeah! They swept the Yankees this weekend! I wore all of my Sox gear throughout the weekend to support the home team. Good thing dad bought me some new stuff while he was in Boston.

Something Fishy

Today we had a very fun day. We went to the Aquarium in Monterey. It was so much fun and they had tons of things for a guy my size. There were so many cool fish to look at! Millions of them I think.
And some of the tanks were at a perfect height for me. Good thinking.
Here I am doing my penguin imitation.This water table sure is a lot of fun. Mom and Dad, you can bring me back here anytime!

Busted

No, Mr. Park Ranger. I wasn't eating animal crackers just a minute ago. Honest!

**Note** They are very strict about food in this park because months ago a squirrel attacked a child for his graham crackers. The park service even resorted to putting out decoy strollers to monitor the animal behavior. Sure enough, Attack Squirrels were on the loose. Now that people are keeping snacks away peace has returned to the park.

Splish Splash

This week mom and I started a swim class at the Y. It's a little chilly still, but the pool is pretty fun! I'll be a pro by summer's end.

Welcome Home!

My daddy has been in Boston for the past couple of weeks and that was WAY TOO LONG of a time for him to be gone. We have lots of golf and book reading to catch up on. Mom says he has dirty diapers to catch up on too. Hee hee! Welcome home. We missed you terribly.

Shhh, we're hunting wabbits. No, that's not right. I mean we are hunting Easter eggs.

Eggs-static

Yesterday morning we finally got around to decorating some of these Easter eggs my mom has been talking about. It's a good thing that in California the Easter Bunny comes after nap time rather than first thing in the morning or we would have had no eggs to offer. You can see here that my Grandpa Chip and I were hard at work getting these things decorated.
I think they turned out pretty good. Don't you?
