Here I am everyone! A Christmas cookie in the Nutcracker!
Look close and you can see me there in the front row. My costume has a red stocking on it.
And please try to ignore the sound of my mom's camera as she takes a ton of photos.

Decorating the house for the holidays

I'd been asking my mom if I could decorate a gingerbread house because that looks like a ton of fun. But she kept saying no. What a grinch right? She said something about it being a total hassle. Then yesterday we found pre-built gingerbread houses at Target and my mom said yes! Decorating was a blast. Check it out.

There was a small crack in the roof when we first took the house out of the box, but that was easily fixed and completely camouflaged by the end of the project.

This is very tricky work... gotta get it just right.

Going over the details

Now Santa, let's make sure we get this wish list right... and I feel like I'm forgetting something. Let me just tap my head for a minute to see if it helps to jog my memory. Oh yeah, toys! I'd like lots of toys. And of course I've been good. I ALWAYS make good decisions. No need to check with my mom and dad on the accuracy of that statement.

Much to my mom's surprise, I made my own lunch today.

Getting in the holiday spirit

This year at school we are practicing for our own production of the Nutcracker. I get to be a cookie. And after we do our own Nutcracker there is a special field trip where my mom will take me to see a real Nutcracker performance done by the San Francisco Ballet. Cool! Since this is a year of some special events my mom agreed that I could have this Nutcracker that we found at Target. He's pretty special and I'm really excited to have him on our mantle.
And guess who made a surprise appearance this morning. Schoof the Shelf Elf! Mom said that he came a little early this year just to check in and make sure that my sister and I are on good behavior.

Status update: Thumbs Sideways

I thought Robby was feeling better after Friday, but I was wrong. Today started at 6am and ended with Robby in bed at 6:30pm. He's still doing okay, but just not great. No fever, just a stomach flu. I'll spare you the gory details. Anyway, tomorrow we'll probably be in lockdown again. Ho hum... But I keep telling myself that this could be worse, way worse. At least we can enjoy the comforts of home rather than be dealing with this in a hotel room (where we'll be in a couple of weeks).

Thumbs Up!

Unfortunately Robby had to miss swim class and school today because of a slight stomach bug. Nothing major, just a little hitch in our normal plans. We took it easy today and he got to watch a lot of tv. The funny thing is that Robby has picked up this "thumbs up/thumbs down" signal system from school. So throughout the day he told me how his tummy felt by giving me a thumbs up or not. This morning he would say "mom (groan) my tummy is thumbs down." Not good. Then he felt "thumbs up!" After he ate some lunch he waffled a little bit and was kind of thumbs sideways. But I'm happy to report that he's been thumbs up the rest of today and he chowed on pizza tonight. Let's hope he's even better tomorrow and that the rest of us stay healthy.

Trick or Treat

Wow Halloween was a lot of fun this year! I loved my Mickey costume (thanks mom) and pumpkin carving was fun.
I got to wear my costume on Friday to school. We also had some special Halloween activities.

After school I got to go trick-or-treating down town at the shops. I've realized that I have a preference for candy if it involves chocolate. If it doesn't have chocolate then I'll pass. And last night we went REAL trick-or-treating with some friends. It was so much fun and I got a lot of candy. CHOCOLATE CANDY.

Glee

Out here where there is a water shortage, my parents don't let me mess around with the garden hose much. So helping dad fill the hot tub is tons of fun!

Oops. I got a little out of control... Just a tad wet...

First field trip

Yesterday was really exciting... I had a field trip for school. And because it was a special day, I decided to dress up a little. We got dropped off at the park where we got on a school bus!


The bus took us to a theater to see a play. It wasn't a movie theater, but a PEOPLE theater! I sat still and watched the show as it was very interesting. After the play was over we went back to school where we ate lunch. This was special too since normally I have lunch at home. Then we had our regular day at school. Whew! What an exciting day. I can't wait until the next field trip.

The return of MUSTACHE NIGHT!

Yesterday afternoon my mom asked me "Robby, what do you want to do? Should we paint or do play-doh?" I thought "Hmmm. I know! Let's do mustaches! We haven't done that in a long long time!" So we had the very exciting return of Mustache Night! And you know what's better than regular mustaches? Green mustaches of course!

Ew. This green fu-manchu makes it look like I have a really bad cold...

123 - working on my writing skills

This morning after breakfast I decided to work a little on my writing (tracing) skills. Numbers seemed like a good place to start.
And then I was on a roll!

Absolutely no fun at all

My cousin Catherine was in town visiting and you know what? We didn't have any fun at all. We didn't have fun in the pool or on bikes. Not one second of fun. And you know what? We both really can't stand chocolate. Yuck! Hate the stuff. Particularly brownie batter...

Winning Big!

My cousin Catherine is in town visiting on vacation and we went to Gilroy Gardens today to show off some of the fun stuff that we do around here. After going on a bunch of rides and eating lunch we went to play some of the carnival games. I'm an old pro at some of these, but I've never been as lucky as I was today.

Here's a game that's a kid-friendly "guaranteed win." If you get the basketball on a white space you get a small prize. But today... my basket ball landed on the one and only RED SPACE. You know what that means?
I won the Grand Prize!!! A GIGANTIC FROG!!!
This thing is gigantic. It's almost as big as me! And it is so cool! People could hardly believe that I was the one who won it. But wait... I have to carry this thing now?
Thankfully my big frog was able to hitch a ride on my sister's stroller.
