Catching a wave

It was a wild and windy day at the lake and can you believe that my mom dragged me in for a swim? Apparently when she was younger her favorite days in the water were when the white caps made things "interesting."
Much to my surprise I had a blast. "TOO MUCH FUN MOTHER" is what I kept yelling. I giggled especially hard when I got splashed in the face by a big wave. I'm glad my mom made me go for a dip even though it was a bit chilly.

I want to ride my trike, yet it is raining. I'm a California kid and not used to much rain. So what's a boy to do? Oh look! Dad's happy to step in as my personal valet. Thanks for keeping me dry!

Put to work.

I really like corn on the cob and last night I was told that I could do some of the work by shucking an ear. I really liked that I got to throw the husk into the woods off of Grandma's deck, but it was kind of hard work.

Another "Day Out With Thomas"

Another year, another fun day with Thomas! I understand that he only comes once of year kind of like Santa Claus so it was great that we didn't miss him.
The little boy in front of me screamed when he saw Sir Topham Hatt. But he didn't know what he was missing. Sir Topham Hatt is cool!

Rainy day

Living in California, I'm only used to bad weather a couple of months out of the year. Well it's been rainy here in Boston so we spent most of yesterday in the hotel... and I got the watch a DVD while my sister napped. It's not a bad thing to zone out after a day of busy travel.

More riding

Yesterday I got to take my bike to the park. It was so much fun. There is a huge loop around the park that I can ride on. It works as the perfect racetrack!

My new wheels

Here I am folks! Practicing riding my new big kid bike. I know I'm not wearing a helmet, but trust me my parents will make me wear it when I'm not just horsing around on the back deck.
And the name of my new bike? Thomas of course.

Four is fun!

Holy cow! Turning 4 was AWESOME today. Let me give you a quick recap.

I woke up earlier than usual (6:45am) and my parents let me watch a couple of episodes of Thomas in their bed. Then we headed to the kitchen for breakfast and I found that the surprised me with decorations. Cool!


And Mickey Mouse pancakes!!Finally it was time to head downstairs where I got to open presents. I can hardly believe that I got a big kid bike. Seriously, look at the expression on my face. I'm so surprised!


We did a little bit of ichat with Grandpa Chip and Shirley...
And I totally dig my new Leapster. Thanks Grandpa Chip and Shirley! I played with this a ton today.
Before long it was time for my party at Pump It Up. SO MUCH FUN!!!! It was great getting the chance to play with my good friends. Here I am heading down the slide head first.
And what's a birthday without some delicious chocolate cake... made from scratch by the way.

Preparing for the party

Tomorrow's the big day!! Grandma Mary made my birthday cake (with tons of help from me of course) and then we also make cupcakes. We have to make sure there are enough treats to go around and some leftovers to enjoy after the party. So, the kids will get cupcakes!
And there is also a sheetcake!
And there clearly wasn't enough frosting on the beater...

Paying my own way

A couple of weeks ago we were in the toy store and I begged for a new train. My mom decided that it was time for me to pony up and buy my own toy. So we went home and emptied my piggy bank to see how much moolah I had accumulated over the years. We found out that I had just enough to buy one small train (about $12).


I thought long and hard about my decision. I picked Stanley - a latest favorite in the Thomas lineup.
I paid with my own cold hard cash. And then mom's camera battery died. Sorry - no more photos.
