Gated Community

Hmmm, I wonder what Mommy meant when she said "we got this up just in time." Come on, I think I just heard the ice cream truck go by. Let me out!

Having a ball

What a cool new toy! So many games to play. Mom and I could play catch, I could play "kitty bowling," or hey... BONGO DRUMS!

Swing into spring

Mommy and I went to the park today and I got to play on the swings for the first time. I had so much fun! I'll have to take Daddy there this weekend to show him how much fun we can have!!

9 months

Yesterday I turned 9 months old. We had a pretty good day. I fed myself a breakfast of banana and Cheerios. What delicacies! We took it easy for most of the day since I had an afternoon checkup at the doctor's office. That went well. I'm such a big boy that I didn't even cry when I got my shot! By the way, did I mention that I now have another new tooth? Some more are on their way. And let me tell you that dealing with that is way harder than getting some wimpy shot at the doctor's office.

Hide N' Seek

Ha Ha! Kitty I found you!! Okay, now it is my turn to hide.

Sunday night

Yet another busy weekend in the life of me, Robby Emens. Yesterday I went for a jog with my daddy (well, I napped in the stroller while he did all the work). Then later my mom and I went shopping and she got some new clothes for our upcoming vacation. She didn't buy anything for me, but that is okay... just this once.

Today we went to a birthday party for my cousins. That was lots of fun. It will be much more fun however when I'm able to join in on eating the pizza, cake and ice cream. I'm getting closer though... just three more months and that birthday cake is all mine!

I also had the excitement of getting to eat the same dinner as my mom and dad tonight! I fed myself peas and chicken. None of that pureed baby food, but the real thing! Just like a big kid! But I made a slight mess of myself so I had to take a nice long bath (in my new big boy tub!).

Oh yeah, I also got my second hair cut today. Like the new 'do?

Earlier this week my mom needed some help organizing and cleaning out her sock drawer. Maybe she making room so that I can have some more toys.

Hat trick

We got tickets to go to see the Boston Bruins game this weekend. How many little boys are lucky enough to go to their first NHL hockey game before they are even 9 months old? We went with some friends and we had so much fun. At first I didn't know what to think about the loud crowds, but soon enough I was cheering with the best of them. It was a great game and the Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2. And as dad said "Robby you are so lucky! Your first game and you get to witness a hat trick!" Okay, dad. Whatever that means.
Here is a picture of my mom and me sitting in the old penalty box from the original Boston Garden. Cool!
Here I am still pondering the excitement of this "hat trick." I think dad needs to give me another sports tutorial. Meanwhile, think I could have some of that popcorn?

Hoops!

Ah, I'm really liking this March Madness business. Last night my mommy went out with some of her friends so daddy and I got to hang out and watch college hoops. We even got out my basketball hoop so that I could practice some of my moves.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Yet another holiday come and gone. We didn't do much to celebrate today, but I did get to go to a parade last weekend. Come on mom, please can't I have just a little bit of Guiness in my sippy cup? Aw, you are no fun.

Note on the audio

From Robby's Mom:
I'm aware that nobody really wants to hear a baby crying, but I was experimenting with the audio feature that I just discovered on Blogger. Unfortunately Robby wasn't in the mood for any cute laughing or babbling, and I didn't have the patience to wait for him to be in a more cheerful mood. Later I hope to add more charming audio clips - especially once he starts talking.

waaahhhh!

Catch me if you can

Here is an example of my growing crawling skills. I see the fear in the kittycat's eyes as I creep closer and closer... they won't stay out of my reach for long. Meanwhile, mom and dad - eat my Cheerio dust! I'm crawling my way to the toy store. Adios!

happy tuesday

Hello everyone. Mom hasn't gotten much of a chance to post updates lately. That is partly due to some upgrades she did to the computer (and the fact that she's taken so many pictures of me that she needed an external hard drive). The other thing interfering is that I'm starting to crawl a bit now so she can't just plop me on the floor with some toys and expect that I'll stay out of trouble while she plays on the computer. Sorry mom, those days of me sitting still are OVER!

We had lots of fun this past weekend. My dad and I went to a St. Patrick's Day parade with our friends while my mom went to a party. Then we had dinner at my Nana and Pop's house.

Other than that, we've been going out for walks in the mild weather. We went to a few play dates last week and that was lots of fun. Mom says that I can finally have some friends over once she gets the house "baby proofed."

Here comes trouble

Note from Robby's mom: Today I sat Robby down in his crib to go answer the phone. And when I returned this is what I found... he had pulled himself up on the rail! Rob and I are amazed at how much the little man is growing, but I'm not sure that we are ready for him to be mobile. I guess that soon we will have little choice! He's already doing well with the "marine belly crawl."

Back Home

We are back from our latest trip to Michigan. I had a great time, but boy is travel tiring! Mom and Dad said that I did a super job being on good behavior at the wedding we went to (I earned those new toys mom had gotten for me!). And another thing... I turned 8 months old on Monday (photo above).

It was great getting to visit so much of my Michigan family. But it is nice to be at home to sleep in my own bed.
