Feeling better

I'm feeling the best I have all week. I told my mom that I was feeling "double thumbs down" still (you know I get extra tv, extra peanut butter, chocolate milk and no chores when I'm sick) until she said "well you have to keep taking medicine until you feel better." Hmmm. I think I'm feeling double thumbs up again. How about that?

Practical Joker

The other day my Grandma Mary had a dream that I was taller than she was. She told us this just before she arrived in California for a visit. So, I ate an extra helping of vegetables and...

 

LOOK! I'm taller than Grandma! I surprised her when she got to our house late Saturday night.

Shhh! It's a secret.

 

You want to know something? My parents think I'm just a regular little boy.

Play Ball!

 

We didn't see any famous faces at the ball park today, but we did get an awesome tour of the park!

  

My dad and I sat in the home team dug out!!

  

 I got to walk around the field some. 

  

 We got our picture taken by the Ted Williams statue. 

 

And we saw Fenway Park made out of LEGOS!!!!

Gone Fishing

 

My mom and dad were nice enough to pick up a fishing pole for me down here in Florida. Yesterday my dad and I headed down to the beach to see if the fish were biting. 

 

Hmmm. I'm not having much luck. I guess the fish aren't too hungry for the bait I'm using (seashells).

From Snow Forts to Sand Castles

 

Building snow forts a couple of weeks ago was fun, but sand castles are pretty awesome too!

On vacation

 

Been pretty busy here on vacation. My mom and I have had some great luck collecting cool shells and other things on the beach. Let's see how many of my treasures we can tote home.

Mom hasn't gotten too many photos of me the past few days because I've been busy playing with my cousin Catherine. She and her dad decided spur of the moment to join us in Florida for a few days of fun. We've been on bike rides, been swimming, done crafts, fed turtles. All around we've had a BLAST! Too bad Catherine has to go home tomorrow. Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Computer fun

My mom does some pretty fun stuff on the computer and tonight she let me play around some (she did the work, I just told her what to do). Here's my creation...

My weekend with Skipper

Let me tell you about Skipper. Skipper is a very special puppy - he's our classroom puppy. Other students have taken him home for the night and had great adventures with him. I've been waiting for ages to have my turn. And finally, Thursday my named got picked! And when the teacher heard my mommy say "oh! It's Skipper! You've been waiting so long!" she decided that I could keep him through the weekend. Let me show you some of the fun stuff we've done while Skipper is with us.

Skipper came to swim class to watch me practice. Sorry, no dogs allowed in this pool.

Skipper had lunch with me. I think he liked my ham and cheese sandwich.

Friday afternoon we took Skipper to the library. I needed some new books and Skipper did a great job being quiet.

Skipper is awesome to nap with while we ran errands.

Can you believe my parents even let me take Skipper to a restaurant? He was very good and spent most of the time in mom's purse.

And Skipper really likes cats and toddlers. Here he is making friends with our cat Mary. Carolyn thinks Skipper is pretty cool too.

 

And the grand finale - we took Skipper bowling! STRIKE!

Tomorrow Skipper needs a bath before we take him back to school. And then it will be my turn to tell all of my classmates about my fun with Skipper. Then he goes on to visit the next lucky kid. I have really enjoyed my weekend with Skipper.

SNOW IN TAHOE!

Do I need to tell you how excited I was to head to Lake Tahoe for the weekend? I was so excited to go play in the snow. And quite often I'd get a little confused and call our destination Home Depot by accident. Don't ask where that comes from. I was clearly too excited to think clearly.

 

Nothing could keep me from playing in the snow and building a snow fort. Not even an evil stomach bug would stop me. It slowed me down sometimes, but it didn't stop me.

And the best part is that I had some very good friends along to play with. That made it the best weekend ever. Here I am with my buddies "chillin" in our snow fort.

Of Bowling Alleys, Petting Zoos and Puppeteers

Remember my last post about that long to-do list? Well, the year has just gotten even more busy. Check out this recap of my weekend.

New Years day I got to go bowling with my dad. I did pretty great. My first frame I got a strike! 

 

Can you tell that I was having a good time? I even had the bowling shirt from Auntie Whit's wedding to wear. And my to-do list is tucked there in my shirt pocket.

The next day we went bowling AGAIN! This time we took my mom and sister along so that they could enjoy the fun.

I tend to bowl in slow motion. But when the ball finally makes it to the pins we celebrate with a high five.

Does that sound like enough fun for a weekend? Well get a load of this... today I went to a birthday party where there was a petting zoo!

My mom and I both decided that the baby chickens (about 1 week old) were our favorite animals of the bunch. There were four and they were all really cute. I even got one to perch on my arm.

Oh, and the little bunnies were our favorites too! They were so soft and cuddly.  I got to hold this little guy in my arms for a minute. It was really fun.

This was a serious petting zoo. There was a pot bellied pig, goats, sheep, ducks, full-sized chickens, a few turtles, a whole bunch of rabbits and even a young Alpaca! He was sooooo soft!

And as if that weren't enough. There was also a puppet show (not including any of the farm animals).

The puppet show was hilarious. And afterwards we got to go back and visit with the animals some more. Do I need to tell you that I fell asleep on the drive home? 

Off to a busy start

I hear that it is a brand new year so I asked my mom to help me write out a list of things I want to do today.

Here's my to do list:

- bowling with my dad
- make gingerbread men
- sign papers (important papers)
- help mom and dad clean up the house
- help my parents if they are in danger
- find treasures to put in my treasure box
- play with my leapster to get my time back
- help our dolls to go bed
- play soccer outside
- write some more mail for my shoe mailbox
- roll my trains down the track
- read books (not Jack and Annie books though, I read those with my dad)
- make important list for tomorrow
- play a lot of soccer
- go to the beach
- go to a restaurant

As you see I got through a few things on my list. And there are a couple of substitutions. Instead of playing soccer or going to the beach, I took my bike to the playground instead. Maybe I was a little too ambitious about my to-do list. My mom tried to tell me "Rome wasn't built in a day" whatever that means.

HE CAME!!!

SANTA BROUGHT ME GIFTS! THE ONLY TOY I WANTED!!!!

and Robby's parents asked themselves

"if he only wanted one toy, why did we bother with anything else?"

My debut

Here I am everyone! A Christmas cookie in the Nutcracker!
Look close and you can see me there in the front row. My costume has a red stocking on it.
And please try to ignore the sound of my mom's camera as she takes a ton of photos.

Decorating the house for the holidays

I'd been asking my mom if I could decorate a gingerbread house because that looks like a ton of fun. But she kept saying no. What a grinch right? She said something about it being a total hassle. Then yesterday we found pre-built gingerbread houses at Target and my mom said yes! Decorating was a blast. Check it out.

There was a small crack in the roof when we first took the house out of the box, but that was easily fixed and completely camouflaged by the end of the project.

This is very tricky work... gotta get it just right.

Going over the details

Now Santa, let's make sure we get this wish list right... and I feel like I'm forgetting something. Let me just tap my head for a minute to see if it helps to jog my memory. Oh yeah, toys! I'd like lots of toys. And of course I've been good. I ALWAYS make good decisions. No need to check with my mom and dad on the accuracy of that statement.
